You are probably wondering what the heck is up with the title of this blog, but it’s really quite simple. The more time, devotion, and passion you put in to your blog, the more you will get out of it in return.
It’s true, blogging is not a get rich scheme, so if you come across people on the web that indicate it is, or you can make thousands of dollars in a short space of time if you buy their system or product, I would be very skeptical.
The true professionals in this industry will purposely tell you otherwise, and this is good sound advice. They tell you that if you are passionate and dedicated to the subject matter you blog about, and you follow certain blogging advice, you can be successful over time.
Why should I set up a Blog and start Blogging?
“OK, so if it’s not a get rich scheme, then what is it?”
This is a question that I get asked the most from my clients, friends, blog followers, family, and colleagues. The reason I get asked this question so often is because I let people know up front that if you think blogging is a fast track to making a 6 figure income, you are very wrong. Now most people I deal with understand this anyway, but what they want to know is why should I have a blog and how will I make money by having a blog.
Basically there are two main ways to make money with a blog:
- Blog often about a particular personal interest, industry, hobby that people are interested in, accumulate a lot of readers over time, and display text and banner style advertising on your blog, and get compensated when each person clicks on an ad or buys a product you may have an affiliation arrangement with.
- Blog on a regular basis (once a week is OK) about the particular industry you work in, and strategically build your profile as an expert in your field, while at the same time improve your overall search engine ranking (aka Search Engine Optimization). Over time, and as you create a loyal following and a higher search engine ranking, you will then convert those followers and visitors in to customers.
